With a clear night we opted to do a full moon ride starting at Hidden Valley, and working our way up above Trail Ridge. When we got on top of Ute Ridge, the snow had a bullet-proof crust. It had been warm earlier in the day and was just enough to glaze the snow in a hard crust. Under headlamp you really do not have the same judgement of speed. We took it slow and steady until we got toward the soft slab. What an amazing night!
