Making turns in perfect snow to the Loche Vale in Rocky Mountain National Park. We took the switchbacks going up to the Loche area, but decided to take the drainage coming down – WOW! I cannot recommend this route enough! At the Mills Lake / Glacier Gorge turnoff we briefly joined the trail, then once again took the off-trail route a few miles down another drainage to the Glacier Gorge trailhead area.
The avy danger was high within the last 24 hours so we opted not to take turns higher than the Loche Vale cirque (i.e. Andrews Glacier or Sky Pond).
I cannot wait to go back to this area on this route.
